| Bio: | Brief background: There isn't much known about Yuuko's past, not even her real name since the one she answers to at the moment, 'Yuuko', she admits isn't her real one. Yuuko is known as the Witch of the Dimensions (among other titles), being one of the few beings who can travel through space and time. More importantly, she is also someone who grants wishes to others in exchange for something of equal value to the person making a wish: she would have hooked Fuuma to his froggie in no time, and no heads would have been lost at that. At some point in her life, Yuuko met - and befriended - Clow Reed. Not much is known about this relationship, other than the fact that they were close if, from Yuuko's point of view, Clow was an annoying person to be around. But they became friends, eventually they met the god Mokona and they decided to colaborate with each other, creating the Mokona Modoki between them. And we really haven't been told when or how Fei Wong Reed met her, but at some point they did and... something. ... okay, as I said, the timeline is a little bit fuzzy. But the point is that, at one point, Yuuko was dying and there was nothing anyone could do about this. However, as she was dying, Clow Reed made a wish for her to open her eyes one more time, which froze time for Yuuko aaaaaaand it also kind of caused a fracture in time and space, which was kind of a big deal. So fastforward - or was it backforward? time is kind of complicated here - to one of Clow's descendants, Tsubasa -- or better known as Real!Syaoran -- ended up going to Yuuko's store, finding out about a girl who looked like his mom that he was supposed to meet and so Yuuko granted his wish to go there for a week. Long - and confusing - story short, FWR cursed little Real!Sakura to die, Real!Syaoran made a wish to go back to try and save her, and, when he couldn't, R!Syaoran made the wish for time to freeze so that he could actually save Sakura from getting cursed. The price for this wish was time, so then, since his existence had to be replaced, not by a clone, no, but by someone that was 'just like him'. This being was Watanuki. SO AGAIN. FASTFORWARD or whatever it is. Clow and Yuuko, being the awesome godmods that they are (were?), knew that for things to flow, they would also need to pay a price. So Yuuko's price was for her to remain in the store with time not moving for her, and Clow would go to the replica!Sand Country to take care of this new time line of clones. So Clow 'died', and Yuuko stayed in her store (which, we're told, was created for the sake of 'that day', most likely meaning the day in which our future-past-timey-whimey heroes would kick FWR's ass) and waited and waited. AGAIN, WE DON'T REALLY KNOW WHAT HAPPENED. But apparently, Watanuki came one day to the store and he apparently knew he wasn't supposed to exist or he wanted to help his not-quite-twin or both. THE POINT IS that he paid, with his memories, so that one day R!Syaoran could go to the point in time where R!Sakura had been cursed. And so Watanuki forgot his real name, that he had met Yuuko, and even his parent's names. He came back to the store after that, believing it was the first time, with the wish for him to stop attracting monsters. And so Yuuko got herself a manservant, since Watanuki was going to have to work to pay the price of that wish. Now, actually fastforwarding: later, Yuuko granted the wishes of clon!Syaoran, Kurogane and Fay to go traveling through the worlds to find clon!Sakura's feathers, she also helped Watanuki learn more about the spiritual world, divination, and possibly how to make better food with all the food she asked of him. Yuuko granted wishes of several people, all the while being a sort of mentor for Watanuki, trying to get him ready for That Day. That Day ended up being, apparently, the day she was going to disappear. Once the price of the previous wish was done, Yuuko told Watanuki all of this, and how she had bee dead from the beginning. She also told him how her one wish was for Watanuki to keep on existing, which he, at least, promised to do. The last time we see Yuuko, she was being swallowed by tentacles of darkness and now she is, most likely, by her own admission, well. Dead. ... and we're done. TL;DR: The universe was imploding, the witch and the wizard did it, and now it's not happening, except for the emo!Watanuki spreading emo around him. Personality: At first, Yuuko seems like an immature, foolish, free-spirited woman who loves to drink, smoke, eat and laze around and nothing more. Yuuko seems to love to gossip, tease Watanuki, also do crazy, maybe even dangerous things that used to make Watanuki flail completely. She's mischievous, at times bratty, sarcastic and obnoxious when she wants to, for not mentioning extremely cryptic and mastering in that old tradition of the Wise Old Monkeys never to say things directly (unless it amuses them). However, there's much more than just that to Yuuko. She's very powerful and she's very well respected through various dimensions. When it's required of her, Yuuko can and will be every bit a serious, extremely wise and mature woman who knows, if not everything, a lot about her craft and the world of spirits. Yuuko knows better than most about hitsuzen and also about the laws of interference, which it seems, for her, means that her hands are tied. Sometimes it seems as if granting wishes was a burden to her, since it means that the only thing she can give to others that are free are her feelings, but for the most part she does her job with no complains. She's very smart and, if not exactly generous due to the limits of her trade, she can be very gentle and kind. | ||||||||||
